Interior Design New Jersey

Interior Design New Jersey - In New Jersey, “How much of the lush foliage and greenery is really left?” is a question many tend to ask. Since this differs, widely upon where you are located in New Jersey, it is worthwhile remembering that gardens are green, and green is good, especially in a sustainable type of way. ModernDomicile is passionate not just about what is green, but also what is sustainable. For those of you that still do not know the difference, let us start with a little “Interior Design 101”; “Green design is an interest in design that protects people’s health and well-being, while sustainable design also protects the global environment and the world’s ecosystems for future generations.” Source - Green Design Education Initiative. (2003). Do Green Design and Sustainable Design Mean the Same Thing?

Interior Design Northern NJ - Our mission is to provide Interior Design Services in New Jersey that uphold the principles of sustainable design. We take pride in our work since we create beauty without depriving future generations of the ability to have the same. Sustainable design came about as a response to acknowledging the follies of our past. Thanks to the oil crisis of the seventies, the concern for worker’s health productivity of the eighties, and toxic emissions in the nineties, and most recently global warming, we are more cognizant of the choices we make. Interior Design has followed suit in many way, adopting and promoting sustainable practices in line with sustainable building practices. We have embarked on many interior design projects in New Jersey. In Bergen County specifically, we completed the following “green” work;

Interior Design Bergen County - Construction Project, New Jersey: We used recycled MDF “wood” for frame construction. Installing radiant heat was needed to reduce allergens. Over this we installed engineered wood flooring made from reconstituted maple veneers. We applied a water-based Veneer finishing over the floors, and painted the walls using VOC-free Power Coat Paint.

Interior Design, New Jersey: We sourced a majority of products made from recyclable materials. We also used low-emitting products. We chose natural materials such as limestone and concrete. All plumbing fixture were selected for their low flow efficient features. All appliances installed were Energy Star rated. We used colorful recycled glass tiles for interest. Furniture was sourced from manufacturer’s using recycled materials, and low-toxic finishes.

In these and other projects, we have found great satisfaction in our quest for social responsibility. We have proven that beauty is not compromised, and we are proud to be associated with LEED certified projects.
